2006 The Japan-U.S. Mathematics Institute
... was founded in 1988 by the Johns Hopkins Mathematics Department, with the cooperation of the Office of the President of Johns Hopkins University and members of the mathematical community of Japan. JAMI exists to further cooperation between the two countries in mathematical research through broadly based programs in Mathematics. It has organized 18 annual programs in widely ranging fields of mathematics, and the current program is "Recent Developments in Higher Dimensional Algebraic Geometry".
