John Dee and Edward Kelley (or Kelly) are said to have raised a dead person at St Leonard's Church, Walton-le-Dale, a few miles south of Preston, in c1600 [1].
Benjamin Franklin set up the first lightning rods at Cooper Hill, near Walton-le-Dale, in 1770 [2].
